Let me start by saying that if I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would!!
There are many things that make living in the East Village awesome, and the restaurants are at the top of the list. Yoshi Sushi, Gandhi, Thailand Cafe, Ruben’s Empanadas, the Belgian pomme frites place across from Tompkins Square Park — I am well-fed, and I am grateful for it. But suddenly I have an addiction that surpasses them all, and its name is Stogo.
One of the biggest reasons going vegan has been so hard for me is ice cream. Sure, Tofutti Cuties are good, but most other frozen vegan desserts leave a lot to be desired. However, this past week I stumbled into Stogo, and one of my dreams came true.
I tried three flavors — Mexican spiced chocolate, bananas foster, and chocolate hazelnut — before landing on what will surely be my addiction for years to come, salted caramel pecan. I really have no words for how delicious this is, you have to try it for yourself. A sizeable serving was $4.50, which to me is completely reasonable. They have vegan baked goods and chocolates as well, which I look forward to trying in the future. Stogo is amazing and worth every penny!
